The author breaks down concepts related to the anti-racist struggle, such as such as the pact of whiteness, structural racism, racial quotas, and emancipatory education, in order to (re)think pedagogical practices and the training and role of educators, who are, in the end, all of us, the “memory donors” who are integral to school life.
The book, the product of the author’s years of experience as an educator and creator of the Maria Felipa School, the first Afro-Brazilian school registered with the Brazilian Ministry of Education, is an open invitation to learn about and develop anti-racist practices both in the classroom and in life.
